Hello, friends! I do indeed have access to the internet here in Charleston, South Carolina. My family & I are staying in a lovely condo on Folley Beach Island just east of Charleston, SC. We spent yesterday swimming in the ocean & beside the pool. I am a bit red but very much enjoying myself so far! We walked around downtown Charleston today. There were some interesting shops. I bought a pretty little summer dress off of a street vendor. I think we are about to head back to the beach right now! It is a very relaxing time. It was rather stormy yesterday evening & we saw a full rainbow (which you can see above). I can’t remember the last time I saw a whole rainbow! That has to be a good sign!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am going to be going on vacation this coming week with my family to relax on the beach & eat good food. I may have access to the internet while I am there. If so, I might pop in to say hello. Then, once I return on July 5, I leave to go to Austin, Texas for a week on July 9! Oh my! The day after my birthday (22 this year, wow). I am usually not this much of a traveler but I am a firm believer that if you have the opportunity to go somewhere (anywhere!) you should take it!
Any way, I hope you all have a splendid week! And, I will leave you with my current flickr favorites! Perhaps it will keep you visually satisfied for at least a little while when I’m gone.

It’s times like this that really make me yearn for my own backyard. These lovely lanterns are solar-powered & give off a warm glow that would be perfect for those beautiful summer night soirées. I want some! Maybe I could hang them on my fire escape; not quite the same effect, I suppose!

L’Affiche Moderne is a charming new French online shop that sells art prints from photographers, graphic designers, & children’s illustrators. Lucky for us, they now have the ability to ship all over the world! I am especially loving the following prints:

{ “Nuages” by Perdita Corleone }

{ “Le monde des A” by Cyril Auvity }

{ “En face” by Mathilde Aubier }

I have been scouring the internet for the perfect pair of brown sandals all day. My old pair that I bought at Target almost two years ago are quite literally falling apart at the seams. It’s been quite time-consuming, but I think that I have found my four favorites. The good news is that they are all reasonably priced. The bad news is that now I want them all!

{Links to the above sandals:}
1. Blowfish Maraposa Sandal: $42.00
2. Merrell Valetta Sandal: $74.95
3. Woven Toehold Sandal: $38.00
4. Leather Mayra Sandal: $68.00

I have a busy day ahead of me. I am going to a friend’s wedding then I’m off to Louisville to see Mark Kozelek play (finally!). But, first I wanted to share with you the work of Greg Lemarche. I am loving the various shapes & colors that he layers together to create such aesthetically pleasing pieces. Take a look at his other work if you like & have a marvelous weekend!

I am a lover of maps of all shapes & sizes. I think that they are the perfect thing to make an old piece of furniture look fresh & fun. So, needless to say, I fell immediately in love with these map chairs in Bombus‘s Etsy shop. I have actually been contemplating doing this to an old coffee table of mine; I’ve even already bought the maps. I am sure mine wouldn’t look quite as lovely as the chairs pictured above but it is definitely a good source of inspiration & motivation to get the project rolling.
Also, you should check out Bombus’s Etsy shop for other lovely map goodness!

In lieu of the fact that one of my favorite philosophies in life is “Never grow up”, I am hoping to get a bike for my 22nd birthday that is coming up in July! I will probably opt for a nice, simple used one from someone local, but of course I had to make myself jealous by looking at all the beautiful, shiny new bikes that you can purchase online! Here are some of my favorites:

{Milano: $649.99}

{Electra Townie 21 Bike: $430.00}

{Schwinn 2007 Deluxe 7 Cruiser: $479.99}

{Schwinn 2007 Alloy SS Cruiser: $259.99}
