The little things.

(via inspireplease)

When I returned from work a few days ago, I looked up to see my bedroom window surrounded by twinkle lights. My boyfriend had put them up while I was away. It made my heart swell. Really, I believe holidays are about the little things. I need to remember this as the season goes. I am really going to try to keep myself from forgetting to enjoy the little things in life– especially around the holiday season. What little things make you appreciate the holidays?

I put up a xmas tree for the first time ever since moving away from my parents’ house 5 or so years ago. I didn’t know how much I missed just having one around during the chilly months. It doesn’t have any ornaments on it yet though. It’s one of those fiber optic trees though so it still looks neat all lit up in the dark.

  • I’ve just found your blog and I’m enamoured – hope to see more from you soon! As for little things, I definitely love getting cards and calls from loved ones both near and far.
