Fresh new look on Emily Abigail!

 For those of you following me on Google or any other type of reader, I wanted to share my new blog layout. I’m pretty proud of myself because I’m not exactly a pro when it comes to web design, so it took me a lot of time to get it to look the way I wanted it to look. I was going for a fresh, light, & airy feel. I used a lot of freebies from the amazing Pugly Pixel. If you haven’t checked that website out, you really must. So many great resources!

So, what do you think of the new layout? Do you like it? Any suggestions on how to improve it?

Naturally, the first place I decided to look was the ever-faithful Etsy.

After browsing for a bit, I stumbled upon Mary Kate McDevitt’s Etsy shop & let out a gasp of delight. It’s exactly what I’ve been in the market for! My only problem? Choosing my favorite, of course!

Inspiring Quotes: “Hope is the thing with feathers”

{via Ben Javins}

***
“Hope”, by Emily Dickinson

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune–without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I’ve heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

***

This is my absolute favorite poem by Emily Dickinson. Especially that first line. To me, it’s perfection.
