Free Desktop Wallpaper: Don’t Give Up.

Hello, everyone! I’m back  & feeling inspired. We all know that the period of time after the holiday rush is a tough one. But, I’m trying my hardest to stay as positive as possible. I made this little desktop wallpaper for you to hopefully inspire you to keep going. Don’t give up, my friends. Even though it may see like the easiest thing to do. I know I’m not going to. Feel free to use it & share it!

Fresh new look on Emily Abigail!

 For those of you following me on Google or any other type of reader, I wanted to share my new blog layout. I’m pretty proud of myself because I’m not exactly a pro when it comes to web design, so it took me a lot of time to get it to look the way I wanted it to look. I was going for a fresh, light, & airy feel. I used a lot of freebies from the amazing Pugly Pixel. If you haven’t checked that website out, you really must. So many great resources!

So, what do you think of the new layout? Do you like it? Any suggestions on how to improve it?

Dear brain…

Sometimes I get too stuck in my own head to see what’s really going on around  me. Does anyone else feel this way? I kept repeating this phrase in my head today & I had to get it out somehow. So, I made this! I feel (a little) better now.

P.S. My first version had a few expletives in it. I opted for the “clean” version. Hah!

Oh dear, I really ought to do something.

Have you seen this poster already? Probably. I simply had to post i though,  because this is the story of my life, people. The story. Of. My life.

Chalk it up!

I’ve been wanting a cute vintage chalkboard to put in my kitchen for a while now. I could write sweet messages on it to the boy or things I need to get from the grocery store or little “to do” reminders; the possibilities are endless! Naturally, the first place I decided to look was the ever-faithful Etsy.

After browsing for a bit, I stumbled upon Mary Kate McDevitt’s Etsy shop & let out a gasp of delight. It’s exactly what I’ve been in the market for! My only problem? Choosing my favorite, of course!

Inspiring Quotes: “Hope is the thing with feathers”

{via Ben Javins}

“Hope”, by Emily Dickinson

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune–without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I’ve heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

This is my absolute favorite poem by Emily Dickinson. Especially that first line. To me, it’s perfection.

I am seriously considering purchasing one of these charming tote bags by Lost Bird Found. For only $8.00, they’re pretty hard to pass up. While I’m at it, the rest of the products over at Lost Bird Found are pretty darn adorable as well. You should take a look for yourself.

A Human Being Before Anything Else

I have loved Frank Chimero‘s illustrations for a while now. However, it wasn’t until recently that I discovered he has a shop with very reasonably priced posters ($20!) of his work. There are so many lovely posters to choose from! You should most definitely check them all out if you haven’t already. He knows what’s up.
